I made some soft-boiled eggs for breakfast a day before Easter and turned them into Kirby-themed Easter Eggs! I never celebrated Easter and never will, but I've always wanted to do something like this, and that was the perfect moment to do it. I painted the eggs with food coloring and decorated them with leftover fondant from my 2022 birthday cake. I posted this on Newgrounds the day I did it. This was super fun and I'd love to do it again someday!
Before I tackled making Meta Knight for my next birthday cake, I decided to warm up by making a little Bronto Burt. This time I used an aluminum foil ball as a base instead of pure fondant, and that helped a lot! I made the wings stay up by putting the Burt in the freezer for a day, with his wings propped up with a saltshaker to keep them in place. I'm glad that I first dabbled a little, instead of diving straight into sculpting Meta Knight.
Since Meta Knight's 30th birthday happened this year, I've decided to make my own birthday cake MK themed this time! First I made the MK figure out of fondant a month ahead of time, then my sister started making a blueberry-flavored dairy free cake for me a couple of days before my birthday, and I decorated the cake once she was done. I based it on the boss stage of Orange Ocean from Kirby's Adventure, which is where Meta Knight first appeared. It turned out looking so much better than last year's cake! The flowing cape makes it look cool from pretty much any angle.
