Waluigi - Luigi's Stick-Thin Enemy

Ever since he first appeared in Mario Tennis on the N64, Waluigi has earned a legion of fans and has appeared in many Mario spin-offs. It's a shame that Nintendo, Camelot and HAL Laboratory all refuse to give him his own game or make him an actual playable fighter in Smash. As Waluigi's 25th Anniversary is approaching closer and closer, I'm very optimistic that Waluigi will finally get his big win. If Nintendo doesn't do anything significant to celebrate such a grand anniversary for such a handsome, beloved man... Then I'll just do it myself. I'll go all out, I swear! Even if Nintendo does do it, I'll still dress in a purple shirt and black overalls as often as I can and do other wonderfully ridiculous things for all of 2025!!

Anytime is Waluigi time! (at least on this site)

My love for Waluigi started all the way back in 2017, when I started to watch a lot of Mario videos on YouTube and my Mario phase was in full swing. Back then I got exposed to a lot of things I probably shouldn't have been exposed to at that age, so I made a lot of immature jokes about sexuality. Other people on YouTube also joked about Waluigi being attractive, which made me go along with that and I started ironically fangirling over the character. It went so far, that I started saying "Holy Waluigi" instead of "Oh my God" and replacing other exclamations that mention god with Waluigi ones. The funniest thing is that I still do it to this day!! When I started abandoning my Mario phase and getting more into Kirby in 2020, I actually tried to come up with a Kirby-themed saying to replace "Holy Waluigi". But I just couldn't find something equally funny and fitting that would sound good in both English and Polish... Holy Waluigi it is then.

Once I discovered TheMentok's channel in 2022, my passion for Mario started to reignite. The way he talks about video game characters just makes me feel all giddy and full of inspiration... Carlito's Every Shy Guy Ever video was another big factor that made me hyperfixate on Mario again. Now I can't stop coming up with Shy Guy and Bandit OCs! Combine that with Mario's increase in relevance and the fact I was forcing myself to beat every Kirby game strictly in chronological order with no way to play Tilt 'n Tumble until December 2023. Mario had just the perfect enviroment to spread his fungi and win me over. During this second wave of my Mario obsession, the main thing I like about Waluigi (and Wario as well) is the energy he gives off. Wario and Waluigi have 2 sides to them - the edgy side, and the goofy side. Nintendo definitely likes exaggerating the latter to maintain their family-friendly image, but I love it when the former shows through a little. Like Waluigi's edgy purple anime laser eyes in the first Mario Tennis, Wario's mean German voice in the early N64-era Mario spin-offs, or just everything that ever happens in Mario Strikers...
